Before & After Pictures....

Before: This was our spare bedroom. These pictures were taken after we had already moved the bed out. We already had a few things for Micalee's room, even way back then (note the rug standing in the corner!). As you can see, the walls were very dark, so it took priming, painting and painting clouds and landscape to get them the way they are today. Every inch of this room was changed in some way! It was SO much fun! No, seriously! David & I are do-it-yourself junkies!
Just another view of the room (into what will be the reading nook area). I have pictures of all the steps along the way, too. I'm getting them printed for a scrapbook. This room was a mess for a really long time before it started looking like a nursery!
Cheap, cheap labor! Even Jacob helped wax and buff a section of the hardwood floor! I LOVE the smell of Johnson's Paste Wax! It reminds me of my childhood and "ice skating" down our hallway in our socks after the floor had been buffed. We had a much larger (and noisier) buffer back then, and it covered alot of area much quicker than this little thing!
After: Here's proof that this IS Micalee's room! I painted wooden letters, then added little garden things to them. Can you see the bird in the nest on the "C"? Because we're choosing to name our little girl such a unique (we came up with it) name, we had to make sure she could still have something personalized.
I'm not sure if you could see my old childhood furniture in the "before" pictures, but this is what it looks like after sanding, painting, and more painting to add color back to the carved flowers.
Here are my favorite pictures (the group of four) that I got fromTarget! I waited and waited for them to go on sale (everything at Target eventually goes on sale), but they never did! So, I had to have them anyway. They were really the basis of the entire nursery. Girls can do bugs, too!
I know, you've seen the tree! But now you can see it with the rug down in front of the crib. It is such a thick, soft rug and with the two-toned green, looks (and feels) like grass!
