Before & After Pictures....

Before: This was our spare bedroom. These pictures were taken after we had already moved the bed out. We already had a few things for Micalee's room, even way back then (note the rug standing in the corner!). As you can see, the walls were very dark, so it took priming, painting and painting clouds and landscape to get them the way they are today. Every inch of this room was changed in some way! It was SO much fun! No, seriously! David & I are do-it-yourself junkies!
Just another view of the room (into what will be the reading nook area). I have pictures of all the steps along the way, too. I'm getting them printed for a scrapbook. This room was a mess for a really long time before it started looking like a nursery!
Cheap, cheap labor! Even Jacob helped wax and buff a section of the hardwood floor! I LOVE the smell of Johnson's Paste Wax! It reminds me of my childhood and "ice skating" down our hallway in our socks after the floor had been buffed. We had a much larger (and noisier) buffer back then, and it covered alot of area much quicker than this little thing!
After: Here's proof that this IS Micalee's room! I painted wooden letters, then added little garden things to them. Can you see the bird in the nest on the "C"? Because we're choosing to name our little girl such a unique (we came up with it) name, we had to make sure she could still have something personalized.
I'm not sure if you could see my old childhood furniture in the "before" pictures, but this is what it looks like after sanding, painting, and more painting to add color back to the carved flowers.
Here are my favorite pictures (the group of four) that I got fromTarget! I waited and waited for them to go on sale (everything at Target eventually goes on sale), but they never did! So, I had to have them anyway. They were really the basis of the entire nursery. Girls can do bugs, too!
I know, you've seen the tree! But now you can see it with the rug down in front of the crib. It is such a thick, soft rug and with the two-toned green, looks (and feels) like grass!

Other stuff in my room....

This is a monogrammed pillow case from Mommy & Daddy's Secret Pal. Isn't it the cutest?!?

This just about says it all.....

This is a music box (also from our Secret Pal); I'm sure I won't be able to play with it by myself; it's too pretty!

Well see, Mommy isn't too crazy about pink, at least not alot of it, so Aunt Jeanie had a very unique diaper bag made for me. What do you think?! Kinda cool, huh?!?

I hope you can make out the poem. Bama (Mommy's mama) wrote the poem and drew the picture. This is very special!

Some of my toys....

I'm starting to get quite a collection of toys! I can't wait to play with everything! Hopefully, it won't be long before everything is all over the floor!

Here's my toy bin...it's getting full!!!

This is SO cool! This is Ling....she speaks English and Chinese!
My mommy finally bought this chime garden after playing with it for over a year, every time she went to Target! It makes the prettiest sounds.

A baby doll that will look like me!

A Sonja Lee doll....she'll look like me, too!

Puzzles, flash cards and games (just like Mommy & Daddy like!)...

A look at some of my clothes....

Mommy & Daddy have had alot of time to buy alot of clearance sale stuff! And because they're not sure how old or big I'll be when I come home, there is a huge variety of sizes. Here are just a few examples of some of the things that are in my closet and dresser. There is also alot that has come from Mommy & Daddy's Secret Pal and Aunt Jeanie.

Here are some of my hats....

This is the first outfit Aunt Jeanie bought for me. She says I'm gonna look best in red!
Also from Aunt Jeanie....

Again, from Aunt Jeanie.....

Just one basket full of shoes (I have a wide variety of sizes waiting)...

More shoes.....

Blankets and bibs (I don't think I have enough of these yet)....

Pajamas (a girl can never have too many pajamas!)....

I'm sorta lacking in the sock and tights area. Better get this one filled!

This is the outfit Mommy and Daddy bought me the day the were RE-fingerprinted...

How cute it this little Classic Winnie the Pooh dress!? It was on sale at Target (0f course!)

Here's a look into the closet.....

Another view into the closet (it's kinda small, so I have a big dresser, too!)...

Some of my warm-weather clothes.....

Some of my cool-weather clothes....

More warm-weather stuff (check out the "Everybody loves a brown eyed girl" T-shirt - Thank you, Secret Pal!)....
Well, that's just a small sample of all my clothes! I have some really cute stuff, huh?!? I can't wait to try it all on!
